Mara Osterburg studied Bachelor Social Sciences from 2016 to 2019 and Master Science and Society from 2019 to 2021 at Leibniz Universität Hannover. Since January 2022, she works as a research assistant in the Department of Educational Trajectories and Employment at the German Center for Higher Education and Science Research (DZHW). Previously, she worked as a student assistant at the Institute of Sociology at Leibniz Universität Hannover.

An analysis of employment adequacy among PhDs“, examines the employment situation of doctoral graduates in Germany using segmentation theory approaches and to takes a critical look at the measurement of employment adequacy. Two questions are adressed: 1. how do segmentation theory indicators, especially the placement within different labor market segments, influence the probability that doctoral graduates are adequately employed?
