In the OZUG project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the body of knowledge on the Basic Law (the German constitution), the most important legal norms in the Federal Republic of Germany, is being transferred to open access. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Eisentraut, a commentary on the Basic Law (Grundgesetz) is being planned, written, published, and made freely available and openly licensed to everyone via the internet.
Based on the realisation of the commentary, an accompanying social science research project led by Prof. Dr. Bernd Kleimann examines from a sociology of professions and governance theory perspective which factors (so far) oppose the open access idea in legal scholarship and which enabling elements can be identified in return.
