"Wissenschaft weltoffen" comprises an annual report with overview graphs and tables with commentaries, an internet presence with numerous detailed tables without commentaries, and a service hotline at the DZHW to advise interested parties on designing their own evaluations that the DZHW then carries out.
The recent issue focuses on the mobility of students and scientist from the Baltic Sea states. It includes current statistical information both on international students and graduates in Germany and German students abroad, and on international researchers spending time in Germany and German researchers spending time abroad. This information is combined with data from the OECD, UNESCO and the EU to give a picture of international mobility among students from selected countries. The publication also draws on data collected by the DZHW on study-related visits by German students in other countries, as well as statistical figures on international staff at German higher education institutions.
